The Prophet's Four 'Umras

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) performed four 'Umras in his lifetime.

Narrated Qatada: I asked Anas (about the Prophet's 'Umra) and he replied, "The Prophet performed 'Umra when the pagans made him return, and Umra of al-Hudaibiya (the next year), and another 'Umra in Dhi-l-Qa'da, and another 'Umra in combination with his Hajj".

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform religious duties even if faced with obstacles or difficulties along the way .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ performed four 'Umras in his lifetime. An 'Umra is a pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah that is done outside of the month of Hajj. It is a lesser pilgrimage than Hajj but still carries great reward and blessings from Allah SWT. During his life, the Prophet ﷺ performed an 'Umra when he was forced to return by pagans during his first attempt at performing Hajj with Abu Bakr RA; another one during al-Hudaibiya; another one in Dhi-l-Qa'da; and finally one combined with his last Hajj before passing away. This hadith shows us how important it is for Muslims to perform their religious duties even if they are faced with obstacles or difficulties along the way.
