QUICK LESSONS:
Try your best to follow Islamic teachings even when you are away from home or on a journey .
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Hamzah bin 'Amr tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encouraged people to fast while travelling, but also gave them the option to not fast if they wished. This shows us that fasting is important and beneficial for Muslims, however it is not compulsory when travelling. It teaches us that we should strive for self-discipline and try our best to follow Islamic teachings even when we are away from home or on a journey. However, if it becomes too difficult or burdensome then we can take a break from fasting without feeling guilty about it. This hadith also reminds us of Allah's mercy and kindness towards His servants as He does not burden them with more than they can bear.
