Taking Advantage of Allah's Concession While Travelling

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that it is not necessary to fast while travelling, and instead one should take advantage of the concession granted by Allah.

It was narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah said: "It is not righteousness to fast when traveling. Take to the concession which Allah, the mighty and sublime, has granted you, accept it".

QUICK LESSONS:
Take advantage of concessions granted by God ; Make journeys easier .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us an important lesson about travelling. He said that it is not necessary to fast while travelling, and instead one should take advantage of the concession granted by Allah. This means that when we are on a journey, we can break our fast if we wish to do so without feeling guilty or bad about it. This is because Allah has given us this concession as a way to make our journey easier for us. We must remember though, that this does not mean that fasting is no longer important; rather, it just means that when we are travelling, fasting may be too difficult for us and so Allah has given us this concession in order to make things easier for us during our travels.
