The Reward for Fasting

SUMMARY: Fasting one day in the cause of Allah will be rewarded with a distance of one hundred years from the fire.

It was narrated from 'Uqbah bin 'Amir that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, the mighty and sublime, Allah will separate him the distance of one hundred years from the fire".
أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ مِائَةِ عَامٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the reward that comes with fasting in the cause of Allah. It was narrated by Uqbah bin 'Amir, who reported that Prophet Muhammad said that whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, they will be rewarded with a distance of one hundred years from the fire. This means that if someone fasts for Allah's sake, they will be kept away from Hellfire by a distance equivalent to 100 years. This hadith teaches us to always strive to do good deeds and worship Allah as it can bring us closer to Him and protect us from punishment on Judgment Day.
