The Rewards of Spending, Salah, and Charity

SUMMARY: Spending in the cause of Allah and performing salah and charity will be rewarded with prosperity in Paradise.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever spends on a pair (of things) in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, he will be called in Paradise: 'O slave of Allah, here is prosperity, Whoever is one of the people of Salah, he will be called from the gate of salah. Whoever is on of the people of charity, he will be called from the gate of Ar-Rayyan'. Abu Bakr As-Siddiq said: 'O Messenger of Allah, no distress or need will befall the one who is called from those gates. Will there be anyone who will be called from all these gates?' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Yes, and I hope that you will be one of them"'.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the rewards that await those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah, perform salaah regularly, and give charity. It was narrated by Abu Huraira that the Prophet Muhammad said that whoever spends on a pair of things for the sake of Allah will be called from one of three gates in Paradise -the gate of prosperity, the gate of salaah or the gate of Ar-Rayyan. Abu Bakr As-Siddiq asked if anyone would be called from all three gates to which Prophet Muhammad replied yes and hoped that he would be one such person. This hadith teaches us to always strive to do good deeds as they will bring us great rewards in this life as well as hereafter. We should also remember to thank God for His blessings by spending our wealth on causes He loves such as helping those less fortunate than us or building mosques etc. Doing so will ensure we are remembered fondly by Him when we enter Paradise.
