EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of fasting and how it can act as a shield for us. It was narrated by Al-Walid bin Abi Malik, who said that our companions narrated to us that Abu 'Ubaidah said “Fasting is a shield, so long as you do not damage it”. This means that fasting can protect us from bad deeds and wrongdoings if we don’t break the fast or do anything to damage it. We should take advantage of this protection and use fasting as an opportunity to stay away from bad habits and sins.
