Prophet Muhammad's Fasting Habits

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the fasting and prayer habits of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and how he did not fast an entire month apart from Ramadan.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Shaqiq said: "I said to Aishah: 'Did the Messenger of Allah offer Duha prayer? She said: "No, unless he was returning from a journey, I Did the Messenger of Allah fast an entire month?' She said: 'No, I do not remember him fasting any month in full apart from Ramadan, and he did not break his fast for a whole month, rather he would fast some of (each month) until he passed away"'. '

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates the fasting habits of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. It was narrated by 'Abdullah bin Shaqiq who asked Aishah, one of the wives of the prophet, whether he offered Duha prayer or fasted an entire month apart from Ramadan. She replied that she did not remember him fasting any month in full apart from Ramadan but he would fast some days each month until his death. This hadith teaches us that although Prophet Muhammad was a great worshipper, he did not overburden himself with too much worship as it is important to maintain balance in life between worship and worldly matters. He also taught us to be consistent in our worship even if it is only a few days each month instead of doing too much at once then forgetting about it afterwards.
