The Blessing of Eating Sahur

SUMMARY: Eating Sahur is a blessing from Allah.

Zirr bin Hubaish said: "I had Sahur with Hudhaifah, then we went out to pray. When we came to the Masjid we prayed two Rakahs, then the Iqamah for prayer was said, and there was only a short time between them". Abu Hurairah said : "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Eat Sahur, for in Sahur there is blessing".

QUICK LESSONS:
Eat Sahur before dawn during Ramadan
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of eating sahur, which is a meal eaten before dawn during Ramadan. It was narrated by Zirr bin Hubaish and Abu Hurairah, who both reported that they had sahur with Hudhaifah and then went out to pray. After praying two Rakahs, the Iqamah for prayer was said with only a short time between them. The Prophet Muhammad then said that eating sahur has blessings from Allah. This teaches us that we should take advantage of this blessed time to eat something before dawn during Ramadan as it will bring us closer to Allah and His blessings. We should also remember to be mindful of our prayers and not let too much time pass between them as this could lead us astray from our faith in God.
