The Blessing of Eating Sahur

SUMMARY: Eating Sahur is beneficial and has blessings.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said : "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Eat Sahur, for in Sahur there is blessing".
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ وَاصِلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ تَسَحَّرُوا فَإِنَّ فِي السَّحُورِ بَرَكَةً

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah, speaks about the importance of eating sahur. Sahur is a meal eaten before dawn during the month of Ramadan. It is believed that eating sahur brings blessings from Allah. This hadith encourages Muslims to eat sahur as it will bring them closer to Allah and benefit them in this life and the hereafter. Eating sahur also helps Muslims have enough energy for fasting during the day, which is one of the pillars of Islam. Therefore, this hadith teaches us that we should take advantage of every opportunity to do good deeds and get closer to Allah by following His commands such as eating sahur during Ramadan.
