The Blessings of Ramadan

SUMMARY: During Ramadan, the gates of mercy are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained up.

It was narrated Az-Zuhri, from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said: "When Ramadan begins, the gates of mercy are opened and the gates of Hall are closed, and the devils are chained up".
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى، - خُرَاسَانِيٌّ - قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا دَخَلَ رَمَضَانُ فُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الرَّحْمَةِ وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَسُلْسِلَتِ الشَّيَاطِينُ

EXPLANATIONS:
During the month of Ramadan, Muslims around the world fast from sunrise to sunset. This hadith tells us that during this blessed month, Allah opens up His gates of mercy for us and closes off His gates of Hell. Additionally, He chains up all devils so that they cannot tempt us away from our faith. This is a reminder to all believers that we should take advantage of this opportunity to seek forgiveness for our sins and strive to do good deeds in order to gain Allah's pleasure. We should also be mindful not to fall into any traps set by Satan or his minions during this time as it could lead us astray from our faith.
