Seeking Refuge from Trials and Tribulations

SUMMARY: Seeking refuge from the torment of Hell, grave, Al-Masihid-Dajjal, life and death.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas that: The Messenger of Allah used to teach them this supplication as he taught them surahs of the Quran: Allahumma inna na'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabri wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-masihid-dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat (O Allah, We seek refuge with You from the torment of Hell, and I seek refuge with You from the torment of the grave, and I seek refuge with You from the trail of Al-Masihid-Dajjal, and I seek refuge with You from the trails of life and death)"

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek refuge with Allah against all evil or harm .
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about seeking refuge from the trials and tribulations of life. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his followers a supplication to recite in order to seek protection from the torment of hellfire, the punishment of the grave, the trial of al Masih ad Dajjal, as well as life and death itself. This supplication serves as a reminder for us to always turn to Allah in times of difficulty and ask for His protection against all that is evil or harmful. It also teaches us that we should never take our safety for granted but instead be mindful that we are constantly surrounded by potential danger or harm which can only be avoided through seeking refuge with Allah alone.
