Love of a Father Rewarded in Paradise

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the love of a father for his son and how it will be rewarded in the afterlife.

Abu lyas Mu'awiyah bin 'Qurrah narrated from his father that: a man came to the Prophet accompanied by a son of his. He said to him: "Do you love him?" He said: "May Allah love you as I love him". Then he (the son) died and he noticed his absence and asked about him. He said: "Will it not make you happy to know that you will not come to any of the gates of Paradise but you will find him there, trying to open it for you?"

QUICK LESSONS:
Show unconditional love for your children .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of loving one's children and how that love will be rewarded in the afterlife. The Prophet Muhammad asked a man if he loved his son and when he said yes, he was told that his son would be waiting at one of the gates of paradise to welcome him when he arrived. This shows us that Allah rewards those who show love for their children with an even greater reward in paradise. It also teaches us that our actions here on earth have consequences in the hereafter and we should strive to do good deeds so we can receive Allah's mercy. We should also remember to show our children unconditional love so they can feel secure and safe knowing they are loved by their parents no matter what happens.
