Sunan an-Nasai 1832 (Book 21, Hadith 15) #16443
The Benefits of Dying Away from Home

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) suggested that it is better to die in a place other than the one you were born in, as it will increase your reward.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said: "A man who had been born in Al-Madinah died there, and the Messenger of Allah prayed for him, then he said: 'Would that he had died somewhere other than the place where he was born'. They said: 'Why is that, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: If a man dies somewhere other than the place where he was born, a space in him equal to the distance between the place where he was born and the place where he died".

QUICK LESSONS:
Migrate for Allah's sake
EXPLANATIONS:
According to this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) suggested that if a person dies away from their hometown, they will receive an increased reward. This is because when a person migrates away from their hometown and dies there, they are rewarded for the distance between their birthplace and death place. This hadith encourages people to migrate away from their hometowns for the sake of Allah and His rewards. It also teaches us that we should be content with our lives wherever we are living and not long for our homes too much as it may lead us astray.
