The Reward of Praying Twelve Rak'ahs

SUMMARY: Praying twelve rak'ahs a day will lead to Allah (SWT) building a house in Paradise for the person.

It was narrated from 'Ata from Anbasah bin Abi Sufyan, that Umm Habibah said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs a day, Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, will build for him a house in Paradise'."
أَخْبَرَنِي أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مُعَمَّرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حِبَّانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ، قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بَنَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَطَاءٌ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ عَنْبَسَةَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the reward of praying twelve rak’ahs a day. A rak’ah is one unit of prayer and Muslims are required to pray five times a day. Therefore, if someone prays twelve rak’ahs daily then Allah will build them a house in paradise as their reward. This hadith encourages people to pray more than what is required so that they can receive this great reward from Allah. It also teaches us that we should strive for excellence in our worship and not just do the bare minimum as it can lead to great rewards from Allah.
