Praying Witr According to the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to pray witr with nine rak'ahs, then two rak'ahs sitting down. When he grew weaker, he prayed witr with seven rak'ahs and two rak'ahs sitting down.

It was narrated that Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah used to pray witr with nine rak'ahs, then he would pray two rak'ahs sitting down. When he grew weaker he prayed witr with seven rak'ahs, then he prayed two rak'ahs sitting down".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prayer of witr according to the Prophet Muhammad. It was narrated by Aishah that the Messenger of Allah used to pray witr with nine rak’ahs and then two more while sitting down. When he grew weaker in his later years, he would pray seven rak’ahs for witr and then two more while sitting down. This shows us that it is important for us as Muslims to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and practice what we learn from him in our daily lives. We should also remember that if we are unable or too weak to perform certain acts due to age or health reasons, it is okay as long as we still try our best within our means and capabilities.
