Sunan an-Nasai 1660 (Book 20, Hadith 63) #16271
The Rewards of Prayer Posture

SUMMARY: Praying while standing is better than praying while sitting or lying down, and the reward for each decreases accordingly.

It was narrated that 'Imran bin Husain said: "I asked the Prophet about one who prays sitting down. He said: 'Whoever prays standing up is better, and one who prays sitting down will have half the reward of one who prays standing up. And whoever prays lying down will have half the reward of one who prays sitting down'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that prayer posture is important in Islam. It is narrated by 'Imran bin Husain that he asked the Prophet about one who prays sitting down. The Prophet said that whoever prays standing up will have a greater reward than one who prays sitting down, and whoever prays lying down will have half the reward of one who prays sitting down. This hadith emphasizes the importance of prayer posture in Islam and encourages believers to pray standing up whenever possible to maximize their rewards from Allah. It also teaches us that even if we cannot stand up due to physical limitations, we should still make an effort to pray in a seated position as it still has some benefit compared to praying while lying down.
