QUICK LESSONS:
Be respectful towards animals; Be mindful in your actions
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's journey to Dhul-Hulaifa. He was accompanied by over one thousand of his companions. Before setting out on this journey, he garlanded his Hadi which is an animal that is used for sacrifice during Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage. He also marked it as a sign of respect for the animal before assuming Ihram which is a state of purity that Muslims enter into before performing Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage. This hadith teaches us to be respectful towards animals and to be mindful of our actions when we are embarking on any kind of journey.
