Praying Qiyam with Praise to Allah

SUMMARY: The hadith is about Rabi'ah bin Ka'b Al-Aslami staying overnight at the Prophet's apartment and hearing him pray Qiyam at night, saying "Subhan Allahi Rabil-Alamin" and "Subhan Allah wa bi hamdih" for a long time.

It was narrated that Rabi'ah bin Ka'b Al-Aslami said: "I used to stay overnight at the Prophet's apartment and I used to hear him when he prayed Qiyam at night saying: 'Subhan Allahi Rabil-Alamin (Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds)' for a long time, then he said: 'Subhan Allah wa bi hamdih (Glory and praise be to Allah) for a long time".
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، وَالأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الأَسْلَمِيِّ، قَالَ كُنْتُ أَبِيتُ عِنْدَ حُجْرَةِ النَّبِيِّ فَكُنْتُ أَسْمَعُهُ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ الْهَوِيَّ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ الْهَوِيَّ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer in Islam. It was narrated by Rabi’ah bin Ka’b Al-Aslami that he used to stay overnight at the Prophet's apartment and heard him praying qiyam at night. During his prayer, he would say “Subhan Allahi Rabil-Alamin” which means “Glory be to God, Lord of all worlds” for a long time followed by “Subhan Allah wa bi hamdih” which means “Glory and praise be to God” for a long time as well. This hadith emphasizes on glorifying and praising God through supplication during prayer as it is an important part of worshiping Him. It also teaches us that we should take our prayers seriously and dedicate enough time in them so that we can properly glorify Him with our words.
