Sunan an-Nasai 1611 (Book 20, Hadith 14) #16222
Praying and Quarreling

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ asked Ali and Fatimah to pray, but they said that their souls were in the hands of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ then left, saying "But man is ever more quarrelsome than anything".

It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib that: The Prophet came to him and Fatimah at night and said: "Won't you pray?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah , our souls are in the hand of Allah and if He wants to make us get up, He will make us get up". The Messenger of Allah went away when I said that to him. Then as he was leaving I heard him striking his thigh and saying: But, man is ever more quarrelsome than anything.

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray regularly , Trust in God’s will

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of prayer and how it should be a priority in our lives. It also speaks about how humans are prone to quarreling with each other instead of focusing on prayer. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) asked Ali and Fatimah to pray, but they said that their souls were in the hands of Allah. This shows that we should trust in God's will for us, as He knows what is best for us. However, when the Prophet Muhammad left he was heard striking his thigh and saying "But man is ever more quarrelsome than anything". This shows that even though we should trust God's will for us, we should also strive to do good deeds such as praying instead of quarreling with others. We can learn from this hadith that prayer is important and it should be prioritized over quarreling with others.
