Praying Two Rak'ahs on Eid

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ went out on the day of 'Eid and prayed two rak'ahs, without praying before or after them.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that: The Prophet went out on the day of 'Eid and prayed two rak'ahs, and he did not pray before or after them.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ خَرَجَ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَهَا وَلاَ بَعْدَهَا

This hadith tells us that the Prophet Muhammad went out on the day of Eid and prayed two rak’ahs, without praying any more than that. We should also remember to pray during special occasions such as Eid, as it is a time for celebration but also for reflection and prayer. It is important to take time out from our celebrations to thank Allah for His blessings in our lives.
