Pray humbly while asking Allah SWT for something .

This hadith is about the prayer for rain that was narrated by Hisham bin Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Kinanah from his father. It tells us that when one of the governors asked Ibn Abbas about praying for rain, he told him that the Messenger of Allah went out humbly, dressed in a state of humility, submissiveness and beseeching, and he prayed two rak’ahs as in Eid prayer but without delivering a Khutbah like this Khutbah of yours. This hadith teaches us to be humble when we pray to Allah SWT and ask Him for something because He will answer our prayers if we are sincere with Him. We should also remember that even though it is important to ask Allah SWT with humility, it is also important to do our part in order to get what we want from Him such as being patient or doing good deeds.
