On the day of a solar eclipse, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed two rak'ahs of prayer. In each rak'ah he bowed four times and prostrated four times. This is an example of how Muslims should respond to natural phenomena such as eclipses - with prayer and humility before Allah. It is also an example for us to follow in our own lives - that when faced with difficult or challenging situations, we should turn to Allah in prayer and supplication for guidance and strength.
