Praying Rak'ahs in Mina

SUMMARY: Uthman prayed four rak'ahs in Mina, and Abdullah said he had prayed two rak'ahs with the Prophet.

It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Yazid said: "Uthman prayer four (rak'ahs) in Mina until news of that reached 'Abdullah who said: 'I prayed two rak'ahs with the Messenger of Allah '."
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ صَلَّى عُثْمَانُ بِمِنًى أَرْبَعًا حَتَّى بَلَغَ ذَلِكَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer. It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Yazid said that Uthman used to pray four rak'ahs in Mina until news of that reached 'Abdullah who said he had prayed two rak'ahs with the Messenger of Allah. A rak’ah is a unit of prayer which consists of standing up straight while reciting verses from the Quran and then bowing down and prostrating while making supplications to God. This hadith teaches us about how important it is to pray regularly and follow the example set by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. We should strive to make our prayers meaningful by focusing on what we are saying during them and not just going through them mechanically or quickly without paying attention. Additionally, this hadith also shows us how important it is for us to learn from those around us who have more knowledge than we do so that we can improve ourselves spiritually as well as physically.
