This hadith emphasizes the importance of offering two rak’ahs for four different types of prayers; Jumu’ah prayer, prayer for Eid al Fitr, prayer for Eid al Adha and prayer while travelling. It was narrated by ‘Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila that ‘Umar said that these four types of prayers should be offered with two rak’ahs each without shortening them on the tongue of Muhammad.
