The Practice of Calling Adhan & Iqamah During Friday Sermons

SUMMARY: Bilal used to call the Adhan and Iqamah when the Prophet (PBUH) was on the Minbar on Fridays, and this practice continued during Abu Bakr and Umar's time.

It was narrated that As-Sa'ib bin Yazid said: "Bilal used to call the Adhan when the Messenger of Allah sat on the Minbar on Friday, and when he came down he would say the Iqamah. It continued like that during the time of Abu Bakr and 'Umar, may Allah (SWT) be pleased with them".
