Praying Jumu'ah Without Seeking Shade

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions used to pray Jumu'ah and then go back home without seeking shade from the walls.

Iyas bin Salamah bin Al-Akwa' narrated that his father said: "We used to pray Jumu'ah with the Messenger of Allah then we would go back, and the walls had no shadow in which shade could be sought".

QUICK LESSONS:
Prioritize religious obligations over comfort, Endure hardships for religious obligations, Attend congregational prayers regularly.
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer, specifically the Friday prayer or Jumu’ah. It was narrated by Iyas bin Salamah bin Al-Akwa’ that his father said they used to pray with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ on Fridays and then go back home without seeking shade from the walls. This shows us how important it was for them to attend this prayer, as they were willing to endure any hardship in order to do so. It also teaches us that we should prioritize our religious obligations over our comfort, even if it means going out of our way or enduring some difficulty in order to fulfill them.
