Praying Together at Jam' (Al-Muzdalifa)

SUMMARY: Abdullah bin Umar used to offer the Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers together at Jam' (Al-Muzdalifa), but he would enter a mountain pass, answer the call of nature, perform ablution, and not offer any prayer until he had prayed at Jam'.

Narrated Nafi': 'Abdullah bin 'Umar used to offer the Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers together at Jam' (Al-Muzdalifa). But he used to pass by that mountain pass where Allah's Messenger went, and he would enter it and answer the call of nature and perform ablution, and would not offer any prayer till he had prayed at Jam'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow footsteps of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , Take care for personal hygiene
EXPLANATIONS:
Abdullah bin Umar was a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He used to pray Maghrib and 'Isha together at Jam', which is located in Al-Muzdalifa. However, before praying there, he would enter a mountain pass where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ went and answer the call of nature as well as perform ablution. This shows that even though it is permissible to pray two prayers together in certain circumstances, one should still take care of their personal hygiene before praying. It also teaches us that we should follow the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ whenever possible.
