The Rewards of Coming Early to the Friday Prayer

SUMMARY: Coming early to the Friday prayer is rewarded with a greater reward than those who come later.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah, who was attributing it to the Prophet : "When Friday comes, at every gate of the masjid there are angels who write down the people's names in the order in which they come, then when the Imam comes out, they roll up the scrolls and listen to the Khutbah. The one who comes early to the prayer is like the one who sacrifices a camel, then the one who comes after him is like the one who sacrifices a cow, then the one who comes after him is like the one who sacrifices a ram" until he mentioned a chicken and an egg.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of coming early to the Friday prayer. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that angels are present at every gate of the masjid on Fridays and they write down people's names in order as they come. When the Imam comes out for Khutbah, they roll up their scrolls and listen to it. The Prophet Muhammad compared those who come early for prayer with those who sacrifice animals like camels, cows, rams and chickens until he mentioned an egg. This shows that coming early for prayer is highly rewarded by Allah and it should be taken seriously as a religious obligation. It also teaches us that we should value our time and not waste it on unnecessary activities when we can use it in doing something beneficial like attending prayers or other good deeds which will be rewarded by Allah Almighty in this world and hereafter.
