Travelling to Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was travelling from 'Arafat to Al-Muzdalifa and was asked if he would offer the prayer at the mountain pass. He replied that the place of prayer is ahead of them at Al-Muzdalifa.

Narrated Usama bin Zaid: As soon as the Prophet departed from 'Arafat, he went towards the mountain pass, and there he answered the call of) the prayer is ahead of you (ie at asked, "O Allah's Messenger ! Will you offer the prayer here?" He replied, "(The place of) the prayer is ahead of you (ie at Al-Muzdalifa)".
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ حَيْثُ أَفَاضَ مِنْ عَرَفَةَ مَالَ إِلَى الشِّعْبِ فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتُصَلِّي فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ الصَّلاَةُ أَمَامَكَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a journey taken by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from 'Arafat to Al-Muzdalifa during his pilgrimage. During this journey, someone asked him if he would offer his prayer at the mountain pass they were passing through. The Prophet ﷺ replied that the place of prayer is ahead of them at Al-Muzdalifa. This hadith teaches us that it is important for Muslims to be mindful and aware when travelling, especially during their pilgrimage or hajj, as there are certain rituals and prayers which must be performed in specific places along their journey. It also teaches us that we should always strive to perform our religious duties in accordance with Islamic teachings and not take shortcuts or make exceptions for ourselves when it comes to fulfilling our obligations as Muslims.
