Praying in the Face of Temptation

SUMMARY: When one is praying, the devil will try to confuse them and make them forget how many rak'ahs they have prayed. If this happens, they should prostrate twice while sitting.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Messenger of Allah said: "When any one of you gets up and prays, the Shaitan comes to him an confuses him until he does not know how many (Rak'ahs) he prayed. If any one of you notices that, let him prostrate twice when he is sitting".

If this happens, we should prostrate twice while sitting in order to regain our focus on prayer. This hadith teaches us that even though it may be difficult at times, we must remain steadfast in our prayers and not let anything distract us from worshipping Allah. It also reminds us that no matter what challenges come our way, Allah is always there for us and He will help guide us through any difficulty if we turn to Him for help.
