Show respect & reverence for elders & those in authority over us; Be mindful of words when speaking with them; Be courteous in interactions with them; Strive to be close to God by following His commands & seeking His guidance through prayer & supplication .

This hadith is about how Ali, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad, used to greet him every night before dawn. He would come to the prophet and say "As-salamu 'alayka ya Nabiyy Allah" which means "Peace be upon you, O Prophet of Allah". If he heard a sound from the prophet such as clearing his throat, he would go back home but if not he would enter upon him. This hadith teaches us that we should always show respect and reverence for our elders and those in authority over us. We should also be mindful of our words when speaking with them as well as being courteous in our interactions with them. Additionally, it shows us that we should always strive to be close to God by following His commands and seeking His guidance through prayer and supplication.
