SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that men should recite Tasbih during prayer, and women should clap.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Prophet said: "The Tasbih is for men, and clapping is for women". Ibn Al-Muthanna added: "During the prayer".

QUICK LESSONS:
Recite tasbih during prayers if you are a man; Clap if you are a woman; Be respectful when praying in congregation regardless of gender; Glorify Allah through your words or actions; Follow Islamic teachings on proper etiquette in all aspects of life.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about the etiquette of prayer for men and women. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that men should recite Tasbih during prayer, which is a form of glorifying Allah by repeating phrases such as "Subhanallah" or "Alhamdulillah". Women are instructed to clap instead of reciting the same phrases as men. This is because it was believed that women's voices were more distracting than their hands clapping. It is important to remember that this etiquette applies only during prayer, not outside of it. We must also remember to be respectful when praying in congregation, regardless of gender.
