Praying with Lowered Gaze

SUMMARY: When praying, one should not look up at the sky as it can cause their eyesight to be taken away.

It was narrated from 'Ubaidullah bin Abdullah that: A man from among the companions of the Prophet told him that he heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'If any one of you in praying, let him not lift his gaze to the sky, or his eyesight will be taken away'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Keep your gaze lowered while praying

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is teaching us that when we are in prayer, we should keep our gaze lowered and not look up at the sky. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned us that if we do so, our eyesight may be taken away from us. This is a reminder for us to stay focused on our prayers and not get distracted by anything else around us. We must remember to remain humble and respectful while in prayer, as this is an important part of worshipping Allah Almighty. It also teaches us to take care of our physical health by avoiding any activities which could harm it such as looking up at the sky during prayer time.
