EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith talks about the importance of reciting tashahhud during prayer. It was narrated by Yahya-Ibn Adam who heard Sufyan recite it in both obligatory and voluntary prayers. The Prophet Muhammad also taught this to his companions Abdullah and Abu Wa'il who then passed it on to others. The tashahhud is a short prayer that Muslims recite at least once during their prayer as a way to remember Allah's greatness and thank Him for His blessings. It includes praising Allah by saying "Allahu Akbar" which means "God is great", sending peace upon Prophet Muhammad by saying "Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah" which means "Peace be upon you with God's mercy", and asking for forgiveness from Allah by saying "Astaghfirullah" which means “I seek forgiveness from God”. By reciting these words during our prayers we are reminded of our purpose in life - to worship Allah alone - as well as the importance of being kind to others through peace and mercy.
