Witnessing the Prophet's Prayer

SUMMARY: The hadith is about how Abu Sulaiman Malik bin Al-Huwairith saw the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) praying in a mosque.

It was narrated that Abi Qibalah said: "Abu Sulaiman Malik bin Al-Huwairith came to our masjid and said: "I want to show you how I saw the Messenger of Allah pray'." He said: "He sat during the first Rak'ah when he raised his head from the second prostration".
أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، قَالَ جَاءَنَا أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ الْحُوَيْرِثِ إِلَى مَسْجِدِنَا فَقَالَ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُرِيَكُمْ كَيْفَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يُصَلِّي ‏.‏ قَالَ فَقَعَدَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الأُولَى حِينَ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السَّجْدَةِ الآخِرَةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an incident where Abu Sulaiman Malik bin Al-Huwairith visited a mosque and wanted to show people how he saw the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) praying. He described that during his prayer, the Prophet sat during the first Rak'ah and raised his head from the second prostration. This hadith teaches us about salat or prayer which is one of the five pillars of Islam and it also shows us how important it is to follow in our beloved prophet's footsteps. It also encourages us to visit mosques as they are places of worship for Muslims all over the world.
