Clothing and Jewelry Prohibitions in Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ forbade 'Ali from wearing certain clothing and jewelry, as well as reciting the Qur'an while bowing.

It was narrated that 'Ali said: "The Prophet forbade me from wearing A-Qassi and silk, and gold rings, and from reciting Qur'an when bowing".
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ نَهَانِي النَّبِيُّ عَنِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْحَرِيرِ وَخَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَأَنْ أَقْرَأَ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى وَأَنْ أَقْرَأَ رَاكِعًا
