Prayer Postures of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) raised his hands to the level of his shoulders when he began to pray, bowed and raised his head from bowing.

It was narrated from Salim that: His father said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah when he started to pray, raise his hands until they were parallel to his shoulders, (and he did that) when he bowed and when he raised his head from bowing".
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how the Prophet Muhammad performed prayer. It was narrated by Salim, son of a companion of the Prophet Muhammad, that he saw him raising his hands until they were parallel to his shoulders when he started praying. He also did this when he bowed and when he raised his head from bowing. This shows us that we should follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and perform our prayers with utmost respect and reverence as it is an act of worship towards Allah SWT. We should strive to make sure that we are following all aspects correctly so that our prayers are accepted by Allah SWT.
