The Power of Reciting Quran by a Prophet

SUMMARY: Allah listens to the recitation of the Quran by a Prophet more than anything else.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Prophet said: "Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, never listens to anything as He listens to a Prophet chanting the Quran".
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِشَىْءٍ يَعْنِي أَذَنَهُ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of reciting the Quran and how Allah listens to it more than anything else. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said “Allah, the Mighty and Sublime never listens to anything as He listens to a prophet chanting the Quran”. This hadith emphasizes that when a prophet recites or chants verses from the holy book of Allah -the Qur’an- then Allah pays special attention and listens intently. It is also an encouragement for us to recite or chant verses from this holy book as much as possible in order for us to gain His blessings and mercy. Furthermore, this hadith also serves as an example for us on how we should be devoted in our worship towards Him through reading His words with utmost sincerity and concentration so that we can reap its rewards both in this world and hereafter.
