Sunan an-Nasai 901 (Book 11, Hadith 26) #15509
Praising Allah in the Masjid

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a man who was out of breath and recited praises to Allah in the masjid. The Prophet ﷺ saw twelve angels rushing to take up his words.

It was narrated that Anas said: "The Messenger of Allah was leading us in prayer when a man came and entered the masjid, and he was out of breath. He said: 'Allahu Akbar, al-hamdulillahi hamdan kathiran tayiban mubarakan fih. (Allah is Most Great, praise be to Allah, much good and blessed praise)' When the Messenger of Allah had finished his prayer he said: 'Which of you is the one who spoke these words?' The people kept quiet. He said: 'He did not say anything bad'. The man said: 'I did, O Messenger of Allah. I came and I was out of breath, and I said it'. The Prophet said: 'I saw twelve angels rushing to see which of them would take it up'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Recite praises and worship sincerely while in a place designated for prayer such as a mosque or masjid .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us that when we are in the masjid and we are feeling overwhelmed or out of breath due to our physical exertion, it is permissible for us to recite praises to Allah. We can also take comfort in knowing that our words will be heard by many angels who will rush to take them up. This teaches us that even if we feel like our prayers may not be heard by Allah due to our physical state or lack of knowledge of Arabic language, they still will be taken up by His angels and accepted as sincere worship. It also encourages us to always strive for excellence when praising Him as He rewards those who do so with great reward from Him.
