Supplication Praised by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a man who recited a supplication and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) liked it and said that the gates of Heavens were opened for it.

It was narrated that Ibn Umar said: "While we were praying with the Messenger of Allah , a man among the people said: 'Allahu Akbaru kabira, wal-hamdu Lillahi kathira, wa subhan-Allahi bukratan was asila (Allah is Most Great and much praise be to Allah and glorified be Allah at the beginning and end of the day)'. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Who is the one who said such and such?' A man among the people said: 'I did, O Messenger of Allah'. He said: ' I like it,' and he said words to the effect that the gates of the Heavens had been opened for it". Ibn Umar said: "I never stopped saying it since I heard the Messenger of Allah say that".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a man who recited a supplication to Allah, praising Him and glorifying Him at the beginning and end of the day. When Prophet Muhammad heard this, he asked who said it, and when he found out, he praised him for his words. He said that these words were so beautiful that they opened up the gates of Heaven for him. Ibn Umar was present at this time, and ever since then he has been saying this same supplication every day as an act of worship to Allah. This hadith teaches us how important it is to praise Allah in our daily lives through our words as well as our actions; if we do so sincerely with faith in our hearts, then we will be rewarded greatly by Allah in both this life and the next life.
