Sunan an-Nasai 878 (Book 11, Hadith 3) #15486
Raising Hands During Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would raise his hands in level with his shoulders when he started to pray, and when he bowed and raised his head from bowing. He did not do this when he prostrated.

It was narrated from Abdullah bin Umar : that when the Messenger of Allah started to pray, he would raise his hands in level with his shoulders, and when he bowed and when he raised his head from bowing, he would raise them likewise and say "Sami Allahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (Allah hears those who praise Him, our Lord, to You be praise". And he did not do that when he prostrated.

However, the Prophet did not do this while prostrating. This shows us that we should be mindful of our actions during prayer - we should pay attention to how we are performing each part of our salat so that it is done correctly according to Islamic teachings.
