QUICK LESSONS:
Follow requirements when performing prayers
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how to properly perform the Subh prayer. The Prophet saw a man praying four rak’ahs while the Mu’adhdhin was saying the iqamah. This means that he was performing more than what is required of him in terms of prayer. The Prophet asked him if he was praying four rak’ahs for subh and this shows us that it is not necessary to pray more than two rak’ahs for subh prayer. We should only do what is required and no more or less as this will be considered an act of worshiping Allah in vain. It also teaches us to be mindful of our actions and not to overdo things when it comes to religious matters as this can lead us astray from our faith.
