QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic rituals with respect and reverence when visiting holy sites such as Mecca
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (ﷺ) performance of Tawaf when he arrived at Mecca. Tawaf is a ritual performed by Muslims when they visit the Kaaba, which is a holy site located in Mecca. During this ritual, Muslims walk around the Kaaba seven times in a counter-clockwise direction. When performing this ritual, it is customary to kiss or touch the Black Stone Corner as one begins their journey around it. Additionally, during some of these rounds of walking around it, one must do ramal which involves taking quick steps with arms held away from one's body while facing towards the Kaaba. This hadith teaches us that we should follow Islamic rituals with respect and reverence when visiting holy sites such as Mecca and that we should be mindful of our actions during these rituals as well.
