Good Hygiene and Manners

SUMMARY: It is important to practice good hygiene and manners when using the restroom or drinking.

Narrated Abu Qatada: The Prophet said, "Whenever anyone of you makes water he should not hold his penis or clean his private parts with his right hand. (And while drinking) one should not breathe in the drinking utensil ".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا بَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلاَ يَأْخُذَنَّ ذَكَرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ، وَلاَ يَسْتَنْجِي بِيَمِينِهِ، وَلاَ يَتَنَفَّسْ فِي الإِنَاءِ

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that it is important to practice good hygiene and manners when using the restroom or drinking. When going to the bathroom, one should not hold their penis or clean their private parts with their right hand. Additionally, when drinking from a utensil, one should not breathe into it. These teachings are essential for maintaining proper hygiene and etiquette in our daily lives. We must remember these teachings of the Prophet ﷺ in order to stay healthy and respectful of others around us.
