Delaying Prayer for Private Conversation

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was talking to someone privately and did not start the prayer until the people had fallen asleep.

It was narrated that Anas said: "The Iqamah for prayer was said, and the Messenger of Allah was conversing privately with a man, and did not commence the prayer until the people slept".

QUICK LESSONS:
Prioritize prayers over other activities .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer in Islam and how it should be prioritized over other activities. It is narrated by Anas ibn Malik that when the call for prayer was made, Prophet Muhammad PBUH was having a private conversation with someone and he delayed his prayer until everyone else had gone to sleep. This shows us that even though we may have important conversations or tasks to do, we should always prioritize our prayers over them as it is one of the most important duties in Islam. We should also remember that if we are ever in a situation where we cannot pray on time due to some unavoidable circumstances then Allah will forgive us as long as our intentions are pure.
