Praying Two Rak'ahs Before Sitting Down in the Masjid

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised Muslims to pray two Rak'ahs before sitting down when entering a Masjid.

It was narrated from Abu Qatadah that the Messenger of Allah said: "When any one of you enters the Masjid, let him pray two Rak'ahs before he sits down".
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمِ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَرْكَعْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer and how it should be done. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised Muslims to pray two Rak'ahs before sitting down when entering a Masjid. A Rak’ah is one unit of prayer that consists of standing up straight while reciting verses from the Quran and then bowing down with hands on knees followed by prostrating on the ground with forehead touching it. This hadith teaches us that we should always remember Allah and His commandments even in our daily lives and not just during special occasions or festivals. It also reminds us to be humble and respectful towards Allah's house which is the mosque.
