Sunan an-Nasai 623 (Book 6, Hadith 130) #15231
The Prophet's Warning Against Satan

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) warned his companions to leave the place they had camped at night as soon as possible, because the devil was present there. He then performed wudu and prayed two rak'ahs before leading them in Fajr prayer.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "We stopped to camp at the end of the night with the Messenger of Allah , and we did not wake up until the sun had risen. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Let each man take hold of his camel's head (and leave), for the Shaitan was here in this place with us'. We did that, then he called for water and performed Wudu', then he prayed two Rak'ahs, then the Iqamah was said and he prayed Al-Ghadah (Fajr)".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be vigilant against sinning ; Perform wudhu ; Pray on time ; Lead others in prayer ; Spread knowledge about Islam .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an incident that occurred between the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions while they were camping one night. When morning came, the Prophet ﷺ warned them to take their camels and leave quickly because Satan was present with them in that place. He then proceeded to perform wudu’, a ritual cleansing of certain body parts with water, before praying two rak’ahs of prayer. After this he led his companions in Fajr prayer which is one of five daily prayers Muslims are obligated to perform each day. This hadith teaches us several important lessons about our relationship with Allah SWT and how we should conduct ourselves when we are out in public or private places. Firstly, it reminds us that Satan is always lurking around trying to lead us astray so we must be vigilant against him at all times by avoiding sinning or engaging in activities that may lead us away from Allah SWT’s path such as gossiping or backbiting others etc.. Secondly, it encourages us to perform wudu’ before every prayer so that our hearts can be cleansed from any impurities or sins we may have committed during our day and also so that our prayers can be accepted by Allah SWT more easily since cleanliness is half of faith according to a famous saying attributed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself . Lastly, it shows us how important it is for Muslims not only pray on time but also lead others in prayer if they are able too since this will help spread knowledge about Islam among those who do not know much about its teachings yet .
