Combining Prayers at Jam' (Al-Muzdalifah)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) combining Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers when he was in Jam' (Al-Muzdalifah).

It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Jubair said: "I was with Ibn 'Umar when he departed from 'Arafah. When he came to Jam' (Al-Muzdalifah), he combined Maghrib and 'Isha', and when he finished he said: 'The Messenger of Allah did similar to this in this place'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, Obey Allah's Messenger PBUH

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an incident that happened between Sa’eed bin Jubair and Ibn ‘Umar. They were departing from ‘Arafah when they reached a place called Jam’, which is also known as Al-Muzdalifah. Ibn ‘Umar combined Maghrib and ‘Isha prayers there, which was similar to what the Prophet Muhammad did in this place. This shows us that it is permissible to combine two prayers if one is travelling or has a valid excuse for doing so. It also teaches us the importance of following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, even if it goes against our own desires or opinions. We should strive to follow his example in all aspects of life, as he was sent by Allah as a mercy for mankind.
