Sahih al-Bukhari 1582 (Book 25, Hadith 68) #1519
Building of Ka'ba

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) and Al 'Abbas were helping to build the Ka'ba, and when the Prophet (ﷺ) took off his waist sheet he fell on the ground with his eyes open towards the sky.

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: When the Ka'ba was built, the Prophet and 'Abbas went to bring stones (for its construction). Al 'Abbas said to the Prophet, "Take off your waist sheet and put it on your neck". (When the Prophet took it off) he fell on the ground with his eyes open towards the sky and said, "Give me my waist sheet". And he covered himself with it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Obey Allah's commands even if you don't understand why you are being asked; Help others in their time of need; Respect elders; Be humble; Be modest.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Al 'Abbas were helping to build the Ka’bah in Makkah. When they were carrying stones for its construction, Al 'Abbas asked him to take off his waist sheet so that it would be easier for him to carry them. The Prophet ﷺ did as he was told but then fell on the ground with his eyes open towards the sky. He then asked for his waist sheet back so that he could cover himself again. This hadith teaches us about modesty, humility, and respect for elders as well as obedience to Allah's commands even if we don't understand why we are being asked to do something at first. It also shows us how important it is to help others in their time of need even if it means sacrificing our own comfort or convenience in order to do so.
