Praying the Forgotten Rak'ahs

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) got distracted and forgot to pray two Rak'ahs before 'Asr, so he prayed them after 'Asr.

It was narrated that Umm Salamah said: "The Messenger of Allah got distracted and did not pray the two Rak'ahs before 'Asr so he prayed them after 'Asr".
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ شُغِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ فَصَلاَّهُمَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer in Islam. It was narrated by Umm Salamah that the Prophet Muhammad got distracted and did not pray two Rak'ahs before Asr, so he prayed them after Asr. This hadith teaches us that even if we forget to pray at its designated time, we should still make up for it as soon as possible. It also shows us how important prayer is in Islam; even though the Prophet was busy with other matters, he still made sure to make up for his missed prayers.
